Sanitary License of Pharmaceutical Operations is granted for five years and Certificate of Good Manufacturing Practices to the Soberana Productive System

The Cuban Medicines Regulatory Agency CECMED grants the Sanitary License of Pharmaceutical Operations for five years and Certificate of Good Manufacturing Practices to the Productive System of #Soberana.
The License was also granted to the production systems of Bio Cen and our Center, chained to the #Soberanas.
This license is granted by CECMED after an inspection of the production plants and a review of the documentation.

The CIM receives the status of a ¨Distinguished National¨ Center.

Today the CIM received the status of a ¨National Distinguished¨ Center granted by the National Secretariat of the Union of Health Workers.
At the same time they were recognized:
The union vanguards of 2020.
The new militants of the PCC.
The external institutions with an impact on the productive performance of the CIM: Empresas Aguas de la Habana and Sanitation Basic of Havana.

President Díaz Canel visits our Center

This morning we received at our Center the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz Canel Bermúdez.



At first, General Director Eduardo Ojito Magaz made a presentation on the status of RBD antigen production and explained the challenges that the development of the protein in such a short time has imposed for our group.



Later they went to the interior of the facility (ANTYTER) to verify the productive and technological capacities in which the production of said protein takes place.



At the end of his tour, he exchanged with young researchers linked to the COVID19 Project, to whom he showed his admiration and gratitude for the work carried out in confronting the pandemic, and expressed:

The CIM inaugurates an organic garden in celebration of World Environment Day

This afternoon, in celebration of World Environment Day, an ecological garden was officially inaugurated at the CIM, which will serve as a complement for the preparation of food for our workers. This initiative is part of a group of actions that the Center has carried out several years ago in order to become certified as a Green Company. Among the largest projects promoted by the CIM are the installation of solar panels, the self-supply of water with the recovery of half of the water consumption from the installation of the water treatment plant and very soon the commitment to the gradual replacement of traditional cars by electric ones.

The CIM vaccinates all its workers with the 3rd and last immunization with #SoberanaPlus

This Monday, May 17, the CIM vaccination center reopened for the 3rd dose of immunization of its workers with #SoberanaPlus. For 3 months, doctors and nurses from the Center have dedicated themselves full time to this task, which will conclude in just two weeks with the immunization of more than 1000 workers, who -at the same time- have been involved in the evaluation of samples of subjects included in the different phases of clinical trials of Cuban vaccine candidates, the same ones who have been working on the development and production of the Sovereign RBD antigen, as well as, in the manufacture of products for the treatment of COVID19 : itolizumab and erythropoietin.

For this reason, as a celebration of what it represents for the institution and its workers to perceive the result of all the effort and work carried out, an exhibition of Coronarisas vs. Cornavirus cartoons was inaugurated by the cartoonist Jorge Sánchez (JORGE). This will be exhibited for a month so that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy more than 80 works loaded with an intelligent Cuban humor, which not only summons us to laughter, but also to reflection.

Cuban plastic artist recognizes the work of the CIM in the face of the pandemic

This morning the Soberana_CIM vaccination center reopened to continue vaccinating workers with the second dose of Soberana 02.

By the way, the Cuban artist Víctor Mora, visited us to deliver a plastic work of his authorship that pays tribute to the work of the medical and scientific staff of the institution, who in this period of pandemic have stood out for their participation in various tasks inside and outside the Center, to which is added this controlled intervention study process in the company.

The CIM as part of the Soberana02 intervention study

The CIM is certified as one of the vaccinations that will be part of the intervention study of 150 thousand volunteers in Havana.
The medical and nursing team is made up of specialists from our institution who were trained for the task.
Today the vaccination begins with the first dose of Soberana02 to more than 100 of our workers.

CIM receives the FMC 60th Anniversary Flag

The National Secretariat of the Federation of Cuban Women awarded the CIM the 60th Anniversary Flag of the Women's Organization, as a special recognition and token of gratitude from the Cuban women, for the faithful dedication to make available to the people the product of the scientific ingenuity and creator of our workers.

Productive escalation of the RBD antigen of the Soberana02 vaccine candidate

The General Director of our Center, Eduardo Ojito Magaz, explained to the press the capacities and productive potential of the CIM that have allowed the release of the 340 thousand doses of the Soberana02 vaccine candidate that will begin the phase III clinical trial in March.
Our Director of the Therapeutic Antibodies Plant Danais Alfonso also explained the complexities of the phases of the production process, specifying that the 2nd fermentation campaign of 500L of Soberana02 RBD antigen is already underway.
